Article from Weston Daily Press - December 2004 Take a look at Petruth by Kate Dye
Horse owners in Cheddar now have more options when looking for suitable livery thanks to the new yard at Petruth Paddocks.
Run by the Sayer family, the yard has just won British Horse Society approval and is looking forward to welcoming new friends to the clean efficient and friendly new Somerset home.
To achieve BHS approval, the Sayers had to pass an inspection to prove that there is satisfactory level of horse care and suitable facilities. The Petruth facilities passed with flying colours.
All prospective clients at Petruth receive a registration booklet that includes a detailed list of charges, which start at around £20.00 per week for a basic package. Safety is top of the Sayer family’s list of priorities and the Yard Manager will be constantly on the look out for the horses and owners. There is a 24-hour answering service to deal with emergencies an, if owners go out on a long ride, they are encouraged to leave mobile phone numbers and an approximate return time. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Hay will be delivered daily to the high-quality, comfortable 12x12 boxes with well-drained hard standing, lights and hoses. The secure tack room is equipped with a toilet and hand basin and each loose box has it’s own power supply for easy clipping. Horses are turned out into individual paddocks separated by the very latest electric rope fencing. An all weather floodlit arena is also under consideration. The yard has a visiting instructor who can help you if you want to brush up on your riding skills, teach another member of the family to ride on your horse or simply get a refresher course. « back to news headlines |
