GROUP FAQs

Where will we be pitched?

Adults:

Adult groups typically choose to stay amongst other adult groups on Non-powered grass pitches where they can camp in a circle around a campfire.

Some prefer Powered Grass pitches which by their nature are in a line. That’s fine with us but please do be aware that these pitches are located in our field for family groups whose comfort we need to ensure.

If the group or members of the group prefer a Powered Hardstanding pitch that’s fine however these are in our field for young families and subject to a 10pm noise curfew.

If all or some of you would like to hire our 8-person Powered Bell Tents these can be sited in our Adult Group field and near to others that may be in your group.

Shepherds Huts & Bowtop Caravans are located in a separate field a 2–3-minute stroll from our Adult Group field and are not suitable for pitching others around or gathering around.

Families:

Family groups usually stay amongst other family groups on non-powered grass pitches where they can camp in a circle around a campfire.

Some prefer Powered Grass pitches which by their nature are in a line. That’s fine with us and we’ll do our best to pitch others in your group on non-powered pitches close by.

If the group or members of the group prefer a Powered Hardstanding pitch that’s also fine however these are in our field for young families and subject to a 10pm noise curfew.

If all or some of you would like to hire our 8-person Powered Bell Tents these can be sited in the Family Group field and near to others that may be in your group.

Shepherds Huts & Bowtop Caravans are located in a separate field a 2 minute stroll from our Family Group field and are not suitable for pitching others around or gathering around unless you book more than one.

The good news is that we also have plenty of room. This means we can make sure that your group is pitched next to other groups similar to yours – hence all the questions!

How will we be pitched?

Well, don’t know about you but we think it’s more fun in a circle! We’ll take you to your pitch and agree an area with enough room for you to all camp together but safely – units must be 6 paces apart in case of fire.

Does it matter what we’re staying in?

Nope! We’re happy for tents, campers, motorhomes, lorries, caravans to all pitch together so long as they are 6 paces apart.

Can we bring some shelter?

Yes -that’s fine with us as so long as we’re talking a gazebo or two, we won’t charge you.

Is there room for playing games?

Yes! Most weekends, there is room for children and adults to kick a ball about, play rounders or throw a frisbee. On the busy Bank Holiday weekends, we may struggle to provide huge spaces but the rest of the time there should be some space nearer your pitch.

How about music

The good news is we’re a few minutes’ walk from Cheddar. The bad news is we’re a few minutes’ walk from Cheddar! That means we have neighbours to consider which means we can’t allow live music or any form of PA, karaoke, bass boxes or amplification that travels further than your group. Music is therefore for background only and we’ll let you know if we feel it’s more than that. Music must be OFF (not down) In the family field at 10pm and 11pm elsewhere.

When’s bedtime then?

We like nothing more than seeing folk chatting round a campfire and so long as it’s not disturbing anyone else, we’ll leave you to it – in fact we might even join you for a natter! What we won’t tolerate at all is shouting, screaming, foul language, running about, fighting or anything else the rest of society find detestable and offensive. If there are people in your group who don’t share our values do not invite them as the whole group will be removed.
